ResearchImpact is Canada's knowledge mobilization network that connects university researchers with policy-makers and community organizations seeking research to inform decision-making.
ResearchImpact uses a broker model. Each institution has knowledge brokers who match the portfolio of research results and research expertise to research needs in a bi-directional flow, which recognizes the needs of both government and community organizations, as well as substantial knowledge and expertise they have that can support knowledge creation. The broker model provides a point of contact to all participants in knowledge creation and utilization processes. Knowledge brokering is about brokering relationships. This human interaction is critical to support a clear understanding of the needs and opportunities for the development and use of research. As we connect the network within ResearchImpact to other Canadian universities, the broker model remains a critical component, along with the technical infrastructure of this Web site and other Web tools.
